Uniformity is an important element to the unity and cohesion of military units. Last Wednesday the Navy Reserve Center Newport team traded in our normal uniforms for jeans and turquoise in order to be unified and cohesive in our support for Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR). The jeans were a nod to international Denim Day (https://lnkd.in/erDe9GAK) and turquoise is the color of the Navy’s SAPR Awareness Month.

I’m proud of my team and our SAPR Victim Advocates for organizing this event to show our solidarity in a conviction that sexual harassment and assault have no haven in any professional workplace nor society at-large.
